In November, 2020 Jack’s Lawn and Landscape, LLC was purchased by Victor and Brenda Cavazos. Jack’s has been a fixture in the Menasha and surrounding communities since 1975.
“I wanted to find a great company in a great area where we knew we could grow,” said Victor, the new owner. “We’ve found a great community in the Fox Valley.”
Positive Community Impact
Many in the Fox Valley are already familiar with the excellent service level Jack’s Lawn and Landscape, LLC provides with their full suite of services including lawn maintenance, landscape design, tree service, and snow removal. The new owners plan to build on the legacy built by Tom Jack, the founder of Jack’s Lawn and Landscape. “We don’t plan on fundamentally changing anything. We’re happy that we can keep the employees while serving the existing customers at a high level during the transition of ownership,” Victor said, “we aim to be the employer of choice that landscapers want to work for. We want to help people.”
Finding a New Start
An Illinois native, Victor left his position as a foreman of 31 years at Bay Valley Foods in order to pursue his passion for landscaping full time. “A great yard is like putting on a great suit. It showcases your best features and just makes you feel like a million bucks. We’re like tailors for your home,” Victor said. While working as a foreman he also ran a successful landscaping business in the Northern Illinois area called “A Cut Above.” Brenda and Victor had just finished remodeling their dream home when they discovered the opportunity to pursue the promise of entrepreneurship in a new community. In order to make the move, both the business and the dream home had to be sold. “Our daughter and son-in-law live right nearby in Sherwood. We’re sad we had to sell and, in a way, it feels like starting over, but it was an opportunity we just couldn’t pass up,” Brenda said. “In the end it’s going to be worth it because now we’re in full control of our destiny.” Victor said.
